This course will:
- help participants understand the broader scope of the interpreter role during the special education interpreting encounter.
- cover the history of and legal precedence for special education, as related to Limited English Proficient (LEP) persons, and language provision in the U.S.
- introduce you to techniques that will help manage the flow of communication before, during, and after the interpreting encounter.
- provide specific terminology during the practice session.
