Description

Informed consent is at the core of the ethical premise of patient autonomy. Clear communication is critical for building trust between patient and treating team. This presentation will guide participants through the purpose and anatomy of an informed consent, the ethical principles that come into play during cross-cultural communications in healthcare and the importance of accurate interpretation. We will review different types of informed consent for health care and the terminology that goes with them.
